Re: Best Solution For Angry Wife Good gravy, reinstall Java for crying out loud. Your life depends on it.
Seriously, reinstall Java, along with the plug-in, set Java Security to High or Very High. Use Noscript to block except for pogo.com.
You could also disable the Java Plug-in except for when using the Pogo site. There is an extension that with allow doing this without having having to open Add-ons, Plugins and to Enable or Disable. That extension is called Plugins Toggler (»addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox···-toggler). Plugins Toggler lets you enable/disable selected add-ons from a Toolbar icon without having to open Add-ons. -- Chris Living in Paradise!! |

 | reply to kingdome74 Don't give in to the anti-Java hype. Just install Java and be done with it. |

| reply to kingdome74 I thought of asking about Sandboxie yesterday but I promptly forgot about it. I use it on my computers but I thought it might be a bridge too far for her. Actually considering all she does is surf the web, go to facebook (I've thought about blocking in my router and claim there something wrong with facebook but I couldn't get away with that forever), and play Pogo. I can probably load Sanboxie on her laptop, change the icon to Firefox on her desktop and she'd never know the difference.
Thanks for reminding me!
BTW - this is Wife 0.1 going back before computers were thought of in homes. There will never be a Wife 2.0... once is enough -- Sigh, we played stall ball and got beat for it. Why in the name of all that's b-ball doesn't Boeheim understand that. He may have 900 wins but he'd have a hell of a lot more if he'd ditch that strategy because it never works. |

If possible could you run from a CD rom so nothing can be changed? |

DustynPremium join:2003-02-26 Ontario, CAN kudos:10 | reply to dandelion Yes. However you would need to create a separate sandbox from within the Sandboxie program. Then you can set options to not have Sandboxie purge the sandbox after you close the application or Sandboxie itself. If your purge the sandbox you lose all saved settings from the java game. Exceptions can be made from within Sandboxie. -- Remember that cool hidden "Graffiti Wall" here on BBR? If possible could you run from a CD rom so nothing can be changed? Really can't see the point in this. The would mean booting to a CD each time to play a game, CD are a lot slower than a hard disk. Better to just install Java a take precautions. -- Chris Living in Paradise!! |

KrKHeavy Artillery For The Little GuyPremium join:2000-01-17 Tulsa, OK | reply to StuartMW I've found that Wife 1.0 conflicts heavily with all attempts to upgrade or patch. Often it can lead to a massive system instability resulting in a mandatory reformat. Your combined net worth database is invariably hopelessly corrupted in the process and most values are lost forever.
