Cheaper to "move" service, or cancel and start new?

I just purchased a house, and want to get my Uverse service (just Internet) moved from my apartment to the new place. It seems as though there are a lot of perks to having new service started rather than moving.

So, I'm wondering if anyone has tried cancelling their service at their old place, and started a new account at the new place just to get the "new customer" rates?

I would call and see if you are on a promotional rate for a period of time (eg. (contract). If you are then ask to talk to the retention dept. about bumping up your service. If your not then then just cancel. They'll be calling you with new offers.

if you are not in a contract probably best would be to start new service at the new location.

Much faster than a move.... almost 4 times to 1
