lol... so did... well... nearly every game teaser we've seen in the past 4 years. Marketing is it's own endeavor... not to be confused with the quality of the product being marketed.
I'm not sure the MMO genre is healthy enough anymore to support a game that will ever hit WoW's peak numbers or even close. Ever again.
I hope something does, one day. But I wouldn't count on it. And if it does, something tells me it will be a Blizzard MMO due to WoW's track record, popularity and accessibility.
I hope Elder Scrolls is good. But the saturation of mediocre MMORPG's on the market has me unexcited to say the least. We need something fresh and I'm not so sure fantasy-based MMO's have the same magic they use to have with people overall.
I got excited over GW2, SWTOR and Tera and all 3 came up short, IMO. I think just WoW came out at the right time. It was the end of the Everquest movement. DAOC was starting to die. It may be another 5 years or longer before we see another MMO titan that makes a giant footprint.
We need something fresh. I still say Worlds of Starcraft is the answer. And I say that not as a Blizzard fanboy because I do buy all the hot MMO's when they come out. But I say that because Orcs and elves are getting a bit old.
Anything that is successful or popular is automatically "gay" and the people that utilize said services/products are "sheep". I don't even have any wool. It all fell out.
