I do not see why you wouldn't go ahead and have them replace/repair it.

As they are agreeing with you, that your tv is not performing to spec, it would seem most appropriate to let them make it right.

Besides, this is one of those things that even if you think that you can/will tolerate it, every time it re-occurs, it will slowly drive you to distraction.

INHO, go ahead and do it.
