did they do upgrade to new A30 guide in pittsburgh area?

I got home from work yesterday and anything beyond this morning was listed as tba. I got the a30 guide last week why would my guide reset again? I have r27 if that matters.

You may have had r25 before. I still have r25.

I have noticed with A30 that sometimes the box does a soft reset, where it wipes the guide data and re-downloads the menus. It's not a hard reset like a reboot, but more like stopping and restarting the software. In the iGuide diagnostics, on the DB status page, it's listed as a 'purge'. I've found that once it does that, it keeps doing it every few hours. A full reboot will help, but I've seen it start doing it again after 5, 13, and 27 days.

why couldn't they just skip a30 and go to the x1?

Not all boxes support X1. Also, Comcast is pushing X1 as a premium product to new users only.

they shouldn't take OVER 24 hours to populate and they didn't even fully populate yesterday evening.

So power cycle one and see if it fixes it. Again, as we explained last time, if this was a system wide thing, it may take a while for your guide data to come back due to limited bandwidth.

FYI - There is a thread in the Comcast Help and Support Forum from someone else in the Pittsburgh area also complaining about the guide (on their new DCX3501 DVR) now taking a very long time to re-populate:

I have found A30 is a bit weirder about updating after a reboot. It can take 24 hours before it starts to really fill in, and over a week to fully stabilize and settle down to the standard 9-11 days. Worse, I've been seeing it occasionally get into a purge mode where it wipes the data and basically does a soft restart, over and over every few hours.
