| Better HDDVR in the STNY market? Stopped by my mother's house and she has TWC. I don't have cable so when tried surfing the channels it would take for ever to switch between channels. Yeah not impressive at all and a solid reminder why I don't pay for it  . She's currently using a older scientific Atlanta box. So my question is, is there a faster and better box in my market? Would it be worth it to have them exchange it for something else? I think she has the 8300HD DVR now by looking at pictures online. |

1) Cisco Explorer 8742HDC
2) Cisco Explorer 8640HDC or 8642HDC
3) a Samsung DVR
The 8742 and 8642 DVRs are whole house DVRs and may only be available to Whole House DVR subscribers in your area. In that case the 8640 or whatever the Samsung DVR model is, SMT-H3270, I believe off the top of my head. Not sure if there were multiple models of Samsung DVRs besides that one and it’s whole house brother, but those are the newest boxes TWC offers.
