Blast! is still the same tonight here in Mendocino County (Ukiah CMTS, North Bay Network) in Northwestern California-

25/4, 35/6 with PowerBoost. Oh, San Jose is 170 miles south of me, not 50

Edit-I rebooted my modem (Zoom 5341j) twice too, I guess our area will be towards the last on these things, again

Tried "reset" in the interface of my gateway and nothing. Also tried the "troubleshoot my internet" in the comcast android app but i guess all that did was a reset as well.

So, still nothing in Miami, FL.

I have Ultra which on my bill lists as 22Mbps w/Powerboost upto 30Mbps.

Should I get adjusted over to Blast or will Ultra be included automatically?

How much of a noticeable difference will I notice going from 16mbps to 20mbps? I play Xbox Live, watch movies in HD on Netflix, web browse, DL contents from the Xbox Live marketplace, watch Youtube videos, Twitch.TV, Justin.TV.

I get 16 sustain rate, 20 or more with PB.

I don't think that you will see a great deal of difference, but borderline stuff should run smoother.

Comcast says that performance is now 20/4, but it appears my constant speeds are more like 22/4.5.

Downloads are noticeably quicker and web pages come up a bit snappier but otherwise I notice no significant difference, which at those speeds, I wouldn't expect too much anyway. YouTube, Netflix, etc. seem about the same overall.

Still nothing here either I'm in Miami, FL as well, (Bird Road and 152nd avenue)... still getting Blast 35/5...

Question: When the upgrade actually happens, does your config file change as well? Just curious if mine will change? It's currently: d11_m_sb6141_speedtierextreme2_c01.cm

I got the change here in my area, south of chicago. I was on the extreme 50 tier. The upload is on par but the download is definitely slower than 105Mb. With multiple speed tests, realtime download tests and shaperprobe the fastest speed I saw with the download is 88Mb/s. A file download got me 8MB/s tops.

Not much, based upon what I've seen in my experiences over the past few days at 20mbbps (actually 22mbps according to shaperprobe).

My large file downloads (e.g., a Linux ISO download, 4 or so GBytes) now run around 2.5 to 2.8 MBytes/sec, as opposed to the previous 1.7 to 2.1 MBytes/sec).

Yes, it is faster. If I time the download, I can see it is faster. But I don't "notice" the additional speed unless I actually time the download.

I don't upload much, so I cannot comment on the 2mbps to 4mbps increase just yet.

So I'm a little bit confused. I'm in Jacksonville, FL right now on the Extreme 105 tier at $199.95/mo. Since the 105/20 tier isn't actually being upgraded, how will I know if everyone on Extreme 50 got upgraded? Will my bill automatically drop to $99.95/mo once this occurs? I really don't want to be paying extra if I don't have to be.

Your bill should automatically be adjusted for the LOWER rate but not until the speed changes are put into place.

As stated by others who received this last year in the NE, the names didn't change. Just the parameters. In Other Words, Blast is now 50, instead of 20/30, Extreme 50 is now 105, 105 is 105, same name, just changed the programming/gating to allow for the faster speeds. Easier that way for the systems. That way the sales, and other tech support teams don't have to learn new terms. They just need to know what the new speeds are for those names. Also the computer system itself at Comcast, it's easier for them to tell it that Blast now equals 50, than to create a hole either name, and get it properly added to all the packages, etc...... And not have people calling in saying, I used to have BLAST, but now I have speeds of negative 2, only to find out that the "new" speed name, that is now part of their Triple Play package doesn't want to play nicely, thus creating all kinds of TS nightmares.

I am wondering if there is anything else I might need to do to see the full increase to 105/20. I was on the extreme 50, speed tests never go faster than 89Mb/s on the download side of it after the speed increase. When I do a long file transfer for upload it never goes faster than 1MB/s even though xfinity speed tests are showing me 22Mb/s for the upload. The server I am uploading to is very capable of handling 20Mb/s upload speed too. I have an Arris tm722g docsis 3 modem with a Linksys EA2700 dual band router connected to it. I do have a gigabit network card in my computer too and I checked to make sure the speed on the network card was set to 1Gbs and it is. Could it have anything to do with my ethernet cable being a few years old? I am going to connect my computer directly to the modem to rule out the router as the culprit. Info would be appreciated, thanks!

Edit: Ok so I hooked it up straight to the modem and my speeds are way faster, what they are supposed to be. So any idea why Linksys ea2700 N600 dual band router wouldn't be able to give me the 105/20 speeds?
