 | reply to PeteC2 ..... then imagine going from 56K to 8Mbps!
MIND = BLOWN!!
Would have friends come over to download stuff all day as they were stuck at home with 56K still. They'd surf the net till the end and then felt like OK nothing more to do, we'll go home now. LOL
(this was in 1998 when i got Optimum Online and my 3Com Sharkfin Modem that I bought at Nobody Beats the Wiz - The Best Buy/Circuit City before there was these others )
My Jump from 15 to 50Mbps though was almost as nice. Suddenly I wasn't gun shy to download a 14GB file (Steam or whatever). |

The article said it was going away and some people saw that, but I'm seeing more and more people lose US powerboost and then have very minimal DS capped powerboost, similar to what many are seeing on the business class 16/3 and 27/7 profiles.
IMHO, upstream powerboost is WAY more useful so the fact that in many cases they're eliminating that but keeping (small) DS Powerboost is kind of mind boggling. -- "I drank what?" -Socrates |

(not a trustworthy little bird though) What is your relationship to the little bird? Early next month sounds about right with what I've been reading. Here's hoping the suburbs get it at the same time. For how outrageous Comcast's prices are, 50mbps will take at least take some sting out of it... |

 | Well speeds are sometimes a little bleh again. I wonder if they're messing with the channels again since I'm pretty much getting a slow upload response when trying to test the upload :/. |
|
 | reply to mrschultz02 I got the speed test a few hours ago. Lol to bad it only happened once in many speed tests.

Just rebooted my modem for the hell of it and it redownloaded the Blast config file for some reason. Are we supposed to get the Extreme 50 config for the upgrade?

This is in Merced, CA (Fresno market I believe) and speeds are still 35/6 with powerboost.

Also, I currently have the Blast! service. This is the one getting bumped to 50/10 correct?

 aabaaf join:2011-12-09 Lombard, IL | From what I've been told by Comcast reps here in Chicago, Performance is going to Blast speeds, but will upgraded later. Those on Blast will be going to 50, 50 to 105. Those that got 105 early will just "have to eat" the $250 install fee, but should have their rate lowered to what the Extreme 50 rate was before the upgrade. There is a separate Chicago speed increase thread and in there a user has said he was told this Monday 3/4 for the Chicago Market speed increases. What all areas that includes who knows, but those mostly likely in neighboring states/the Midwest. |
