Re: I'm about to lose it Dropped again around 6pm and just came back up. Been sittin on hold and transfered around my asshole on the phone trying to get to t2. The idiots in t1 don't ever want to transfer you and they are complete retards. I mean when does someone tell you that they are getting an "IT address" and dunno why we aren't connecting and transfer us to the software support people that charge you? Are you that stupid? IT address... and repeat it to me 3 times when I ask wtf is an IT address? omfg shoot me |
|
 | LOL, the information technology address of course! That's sad...I mean these guys/gals simply do this through scripts. How can they get that part wrong? Start, type run, cmd, ipconfig, what's your IP address...not rocket science.
I'm like you in that I either want to speak with the HD manager or a T2 tech/engineer at this point. They at least won't have me power cycling off my modem and router repeatedly and clearing browser cache and unplugging and plugging back in Ethernet and phone cables. I quickly establish from the beginning all these steps have been taken and it did not resolve the issue. I usually have to explain how things work to the tech support staff which should raise some serious flags. Aren't these calls monitored to improve their troubleshooting ability and efficiency?
Last I heard my ETR was for "by the end of February if not before." I am waiting to hear from Aaron how the progress is coming along. Both Aaron and his manager had to get involved to get answers from my local team and office. I just hope they are staying on them and in doing so will actually force positive results. |

| reply to Bodybagger Another Update. The net has been holding up so far. Just a few drops here and there for nothing over 5 minutes. Packet loss hasn't returned and we are on avg seeing ping times in the ~50ms range. I was just informed by a friend of mine that lives off of Hwy 21 close to I-26 that his net is now starting the same crap that everyone on here is having; 300ms+ and 0.45Mb down at night past 6pm. A coworker at my job that lives in Cameron, SC hasn't seen any improvements yet. We must've been the first and only people upgraded in SC as of yet. |
|
 | Glad you are back up for the moment. Maybe I can be the second in SC =) I'm still waiting to hear from Aaron to see if my ETR for the end of February is still going to happen. Horrible latency and tons of line jitter makes just about everything on the net a source of frustration. Can't believe how long this has been going on. |

| reply to Bodybagger Net dropped out last night.. I don't know exactly what time but when I got up this morning my router didn't authenticate. Go in, hit connect, 2 minutes later it finally comes back up. Typical drops the router will reconnect within a ~10 minute range. Usually when it drops longer than 20 minutes, the router will stop trying to authenticate. No storms in my area last night either and the power never dropped. |

| Been down for about 2 hours now.. All I can run is a tracert and it's 9ms - 400ms and timing out on numerous hops. I don't know how this page even loaded just now as it hasn't loaded anything else up. Called and spoke with a tech that was going to contact t2 and then call me back. Not holding my breath on that call back. I hate Windstream sooooooo much. Why can't our damn internet finally work?! It's been "fixed", now wtf is the problem? And why does it now say my location is in the middle of the US? Why the hell would it be routing us like that? |

1 edit | reply to Bodybagger lol omfg they called me back... on hold now. He told me to bypass the router just like they always say. I told him it was in bridge mode and I'm not going through that BS when that's not it. He asked "What is bridged mode?" Back on hold and he finally comes back and says that the t2 tech says I have to bypass the router and take the modem out of bridge so they can troubleshoot the problem further. He then went on to say that our distance was 14k feet and just on the verge of not being able to get 3Mb service and that is probably why our service has never been fixed. WTF?! When it works it's perfect.. so how the hell can it be distance related now all of sudden? And to top that off, I was told last year that the distance was even further than that. So how can our distance magically change? I need some liquor... hardcore.
Copied from Windstream Direct:
The DLC that Austin and Aaron pulls out of is currently on Copper T-1's and the Dslam is also copper fed with 8 T-1's. The 2 customers are around 3.5 miles and have 3mg service . They are at the end of the line. We have ran test on the cable they work out of and it test clean. We are in the middle a Stimulus project to install Fiber to this DLC and add a new DLC close to them that will be fiber fed as well. We expect this to be completed around October.
That's what is being done to permanently resolve you and your brothers issue. |

Don't count on your internet ever being fixed by these clowns. God I wish we could get cable. |
|
 | Net has been working so far. Haven't had any issues now in about a week. Hope I don't curse it by typing this update. |
|
 | Good to hear. Hope it holds!
My ETR has been pushed back a month but been approved for the funds needed, so it's going in the right direction and should be ready to go late March according to the engineers on the job. |

| It sucks they keep pushing you back man.. It seems that's still the normal business operations of Windstream though. I hope when they finally get you going you don't have the issues we had when we started up. I'm having a big LAN party this weekend and hopefully I can get most of our patches and drivers and whatnot downloaded while the net is working. Who knows anymore when the net will go down.. It's not a matter of IF but WHEN. Atleast we aren't being routed to Kansas anymore for the time being. |

If you have connection issues in the future reach out to Larissa or myself so we can test the line. We both are familiar with your home network and have access to a couple of tools that are not floating around just yet. Might save you some time troubleshooting. Otherwise glad to hear your getting better speeds.

| 10-4. I tried getting in touch with you guys before when it was being quirky but couldn't get through due to t1 cs being complete morons. lol... Bout the only other way is through DSLR and that's no good when the net completely drops. I'll keep an eye on stuff and keep everyone updated, as always! |
|
1 edit | Definitely keep us updated! I'm hopeful we'll both finally be in the clear here shortly. Its been a long bumpy road, I just hope the hoop jumping is nearly over. Aaron has been a big help to me so be sure and hit him up if you have any more issues. He goes the extra mile in getting in touch with who's doing the actual work and stays on top of them to finish up. |

| So far things have been up and running. Over the weekend we were having a LAN party at my brother's house. I noticed that 90% of the time his SNR was 8 and lower. I'm not sure what that was all about other than poor quality lines feeding his home. I cannot check mine due to the modem being in bridge but we haven't noticed any issues here lately. Are they ever going to reroute the traffic to the closer, fiber-fed peds? I would assume after everything checks out that this remote is fully operational they would try to bump speeds up by rerouting more distant locations. |

SC2 exp and new WoW pvp season started today.. and look wtf starts happening. Good job Windstream. |
|
 | reply to Windstream Aaron,
I live in northeast Ohio in Huntsburg. I have had Windstream out several times and they have checked outside and in, changed some wiring, gave me a new modem, etc. etc. My speeds off peak are approx..1.50mbps but during the evening are .50 and below! Keep hearing that they "oversold" the hub out here and it might be fixed sometime this summer. We pay for 3.0mbps but our service is so slow we can't use our Netflix and Amazon streaming services.
Any ideas? Thanks |
|
 | Ideas? Find another ISP. If you can't do that then go to the direct support section of this website and start a thread for Larrisa. make sure to provide as much info as possible. |
