1) what happened to viewfinders? why only lcd's now?
Cost saving and probably most people fine with the LCD.
Well I am not one of them. Living in the land of blazing sun, cams with no viewfinders are near useless down here in the day time. Fine indoors and semi OK in shade or late sun but not in direct sun mid day...you just are pointing and hoping. --
