| See Marc's post in this thread. Rotating congestion will likely be an issue until the backhauls get an upgrade. Marc is projecting 1-3 weeks for a full fix. »[Cable] Peak hours SUPER slow! |

2 edits | This is stupid.
Fine then someone needs to move my POI to a non congested back haul link since this internet is close to useless. |

 | If it keeps this trend for three weeks then we might as well all switch to their 3mbit unmetered plan for 1/2 the price. |
|
 | reply to hmph At 2am, my speeds are mostly back. But it's still lower than usual. I doubt it's congestion related at this point... |
|
 | my connection in wow tonight was red all night, for some reason I didn't bother to check speed test. Will tomorrow night though!.
for wows connection to go red, it REALLY has to suck.
If it continues I will not pay full price for this connection |

| reply to hmph Has returned to normal for me as well but I hope this really does not continue for 3 weeks as the internet was almost unusable.... -- www.613websites.com ● Budget Canadian Web Design and Hosting

Fine then someone needs to move my POI to a non congested back haul link since this internet is close to useless. It won't happen that way. The upgrades will go in and there will be some load-balancing. If the slow speeds you're experiencing are related to backhaul congestion, it won't get fixed until that process is finished. |

| reply to hmph I've been getting bad speeds at night as well but my mom's netflix still works so I don't hear any complaints
Ottawa is on the short list to be switched to Aggregated so we could also be getting faster speeds as well as a fix for the speed issues |

 | reply to hmph Last night was acceptable, but there's already some major slowdowns at 6pm. Looks like it will be a brutal evening.
A few words from TSI on this matter would be appreciated... |

 | Yep I've been seeing issues lately as well. I have access to both Teksavvy cable and VDSL lines, and I did a test tonight trying to fetch »files.velocix.com/c1410/raspbmc/···t.img.gz
Results: 1.2MB/s from Teksavvy VDSL (business 25/7), 100KB/s from Teksavvy Cable (residential 28/1). |

 | reply to hmph I called TSI on Friday night about 11pm because my cable internet on the FLFD POI was crawling at less than 1.5Mbps (I pay for 28Mbps). It was impossible to watch Netflix. Unfortunately, TSI was unaware of any issues, and the only way they would help me is if I disconnected my router and connected my computer directly to the cable modem.
I politely declined, as I knew it wasn't an issue with my equipment, and because my cable modem, and router/firewall are in my equipment room in an isolated part of the basement.
Saturday night was a little better, with speeds around 18 to 20 Mbps. |
