m8trix join:2003-12-24 Phoenix, AZ kudos:3 | reply to JmGx you transmit power is to high should be between 40-50, if you have any splitters try removing them |

CoxTech1VIP join:2002-04-25 Chesapeake, VA kudos:71 | Upstream bonding varies by market. If anything the upstream power level of 54 is more of a concern if you're having any connection problems. |
|
 | I've had 8 bonded downstream and 4 bonded upstream for months now. I'm in san diego center -- near city heights & SDSU. I'm running an SB6180. I'm on premier and my connection goes to 32Mbit down immediately, but is capped right there. Interestingly, I'm getting 32Mbit up, too. Can't wait for some upgrades... 50Mbit wouldn't hurt! |

 | Can a tech tell me what version firmware I should have? Mine is over 2 years old.
Model Name: SB6120 Vendor Name: Motorola Firmware Name: SB612X-1.0.5.1-SCM00-NOSH Boot Version: PSPU-Boot 1.0.0.4m1 Hardware Version: 3.0 Firmware Build Time: Dec 21 2010 15:52:06 |

 | reply to JmGx I am on ultimate bonding 4x1.
All 4 down power levels are either -9 or -10, and from what I understand, this is on the edge of what is acceptable.
I only have one splitter in the entire house, and it is brand new wiring. Should I be concerned? Possibly get a tech out to put an amplifier in somewhere? The splitter is being used to run the telephone, with the other end going to the cable modem (no CATV with cox for me). |

I would call COX and ask them for a D3 eMTA modem. you will have the DOCSIS 3 capable of bonding 8x4 and it has the phone service also. That may help your power levels because you won't need the splitter. |
|
 | I just bought a 6141 so it is capable of 8x4, don't really want to buy another new one |
|
 | Seemed like the SoCal area (San Diego/Orange County) was among the earlier areas to get DOCSIS 3 downstream bonding. Now we're among the last to get upstream bonding and speed increases? Go figure.
The only people who have claimed to see upstream bonding in this area have shown no proof, lol. I guess I'm just impatient. C'mon Cox, lets get this rollin'. |

Here too is my proof from Mission Valley. |

 | Just noticed I'm bonding 8x4 in Santee. Hopefully speed increases are to follow. I have a tech coming out tomorrow to hopefully fix the signal problems. |

 | reply to JmGx I just checked after seeing this thread and I am bonded 3 down and 4 up in North Park. »www.speedtest.net/result/2534810358.png |
