8x2 here in the foothills. Don't know if we got a speed bump but we did go from 3 channels down and one up to 8 & 2 several months ago.
edit: No change in the Preferred speeds. TestMy says 18/3, Cox test says 22/14. Either way, it's still faster than I can type and faster than many servers.
