New Ebox Client: Timeline of an install so far
Timeline of an install so far:
-Jan 14th: Ordering of SpeedCable 30/3 online
-Jan 24th (10 days), Get a call saying Videotron tech would come the following day between 12-5pm
-Jan 25th, Videotron tech is no show. I call Ebox asking WTF, said would reschedule first thing Monday Jan 28th AM.
-Jan 28th: no news
-Jan 29th: no news
-Jan 30th: After I call/wait 20min, they finally tell me they will resubmit a Videotron tech and will contact me within a day or 2
-Jan 31st: No news.
-Feb 1st: Called back Ebox as I got no news. Was informed that VTL told Ebox that my address was commercial and they would not come (obviously not the case)
Hopefully this helps for you guys who are wondering when to cancel your internet service before switching to Ebox. I know it's not their fault...but rather Videotron's but still blows!
Only thing I could comment from Ebox's part is that they charged my 1st month immediately to my card (in addition to modem and Install fees)...and still no service 3 weeks in.
I would try to speak to Diskace on this one cause this one might need more administrative power to get things going.

Videotron don't care if this is commercial or not.
we do use 10mbps at a commercial address with no problem at all and we pay the same price than residential address.
Similar situation for me...
3rd january : Ordered
4th january : Request to modify my order to 60mbit
~10th january : Get told I can't upgrade to 60mbit as the order is already processed. They would have to cancel and resubmit and it would take even more time. Since we need to request the speed upgrade before the 5th of the month, I'm stuck with 30mbit until march.
23 january : Tech show up, decide he can't do the job and leave. (it was cold outside!)
24 january : Call ebox back, they're sorry (not their fault..) and say they will call me back with a new install date either the 24th, 25th or 28th.
30 january : No news, I call them back, get my new install date, 4th feb
Can't wait to finally get it hooked up. Hopefully, everything will be fine after that :/
And I sincerely hope everything is hooked-up correctly or I won't be able to place my speed upgrade before the 5th!
Just got installed and I'm finally online with a new install!
Speedtest to ElectronicBox give me the full 30mbit but I'm only getting ~22mbit from other speedtest.
Also contacted support, I hope they'll be able to correctly process my 60 mbit upgrade request.

I got slightly luckier than you guys:
Jan 15th: Order of SpeedCable 20/2 through the online form
Jan 22nd: Got a call saying Videotron tech would come the 26th, I decline because I will be away. Ebox says they will file another request for a tech which can take another 2-10 days. That's fine, it's my fault.
Jan 25th: Got another call saying the tech will be there on the evening of 29th.
Jan 29th: Videotron tech comes over, plugs me in and 30 mins later I get internet.
Jan 30th: Satisfied that the service is stable, I call Bell to disconnect my DSL
Not too bad I guess.
