VCI info

Can someone let me know all the VCI and other setting I would need to set this connection to use the ADSL WIC card I just picked up for a Cisco 1841 router. I want to play around with that set up. I still have the modem that DSL extreme sent me as a backup.

If it helps I'm in NW Ohio on a Frontier line. If DSL extreme needs to find my account to check its my username here and I'm sure Nick can find it in my history with him.

The VPI/VCI should be set to 0/35.

Is there any other info that isn't "standard" i need besides of course my PPPoE username and password?

Nope, it's pretty simple. The two 'gotchas' I sometimes run across is when someone puts in only the first half of their username (you need to include the "@dslextreme.com" at the end or it doesn't work), and when the router has a field for Service Name. If your router has a Service Name field, leave that field blank.

You're putting in the wrong password. Let me give you a call to help.

DOH, I thought I had used my shorter password... time to go use the other one. Thanks for the call Nick.

Cool, now I can see my DSL stats my self, that is the one thing I HATE about bridged modems(from work and stuff) is the loosing of the ability to view stats

Capacity Used: 15% 54%
Noise Margin: 30.5 dB 20.0 dB
Output Power: 11.0 dBm 12.0 dBm
Attenuation: 22.0 dB 16.0 dB

Heh, it's all good. And yeah, that's one nice thing about understanding DSL technology yourself - you can troubleshoot a lot of issues directly from home!
