[BC] Incredibily slow speeds during peak hours in Vancouver

I am getting very slow speeds in peak hours for the past week or so.

Between 4:00pm to Midnight it's impossible to game or even upload documents

It wasn't like this before late in January or so. Is this some new throttling?

Try this:

• clear your DNS cache,
• reboot modem, and your router (leave them unplugged for 5 minutes), and
• reboot the computer if you tend to go long periods with it on.

It usually helps quite a bit.

Your download speed looks ok (but not good/great). The upload is very low. If it is congestion, your uploads will very likely be throttled in some fashion.

4 solid green lights on your modem? Or 3 solid green, and 1 amber?

I've got the same problem over the past few days. Even the Shaw Speed test gets me only 6Mbps down at peak hours. Speedtest.net is better though, but the lowest I got was 12mbps.

I pay for BB50 and I believe our Burnaby node is constantly oversaturated. Our area just got the digital upgrade (since it's now impossible to see the tier channels on analog anymore) so unless they can do something, we're gonna expect these speeds for the next 2 months...

Llosing analog channels does not mean that DNU is completed in your area. It's just one step.
