[Cable] Slow Wired Internet on Dekstop, Fast Wireless on Laptops

So it appears my desktop is experiencing some slow download speeds (wired connection), but the laptops in my house which use the wireless connection are getting great speeds. This just started yesterday, instead of getting 30-40mbps like I should, I am getting 15-18mbps.

I have ran a virus scan with MalwareBytes, which turned up clean. I have tried resetting the modem and router, power cycling the modem, etc...

System Specs:
[spoiler]
OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate
System Type x64-based PC
Processor AMD FX(tm)-6100 Six-Core Processor 4400 Mhz
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 20.0 GB (DDR3 1600Mhz)
Total Virtual Memory 49.3 GB
Network Adapter Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

Err, it appears I have made some syntax errors in my post, which I unfortunately cannot edit to fix. I apologize in advance for that.

• There are no traditional tweaks for a Win7 box. The OS is self adjusting.

• Did anything change just before the slowdowns? New SW, HW, etc.

• When you ran your speed tests where the laptops using the connection?

• Disconnect the router.

• Connect that box directly to the MODEM. Power cycle the MODEM and then the box. Rerun your speed tests. Any changes in speed?

• Let's see what you get and we will go from there.

There is nada there. It tells you what it thinks what the settings should be, but there is no way to make the changes.
