Absolutely not true! Please stop spreading false information.
There is an issue now with about of HD channels not being visible in the Web Remote Access. |

Please explain then why Level 2 tech support (when contacted by phone) would say that their new contract for Syfy was for SD only! Along with Syfy at least one other HD channel was dropped from my favorite listings on the web access. I just haven't figured out which one(s). |

Your typical phone support agent has no idea what the content contracts contain. What they do know is that the more calls they answer in an alotted amount of time, the better for them So why did the phone rep tell you that? To get to the next caller quicker, because he/she has no idea why the channels no longer appear on your web remote |

You are correct that your typical support agent has no idea. You are incorrect in that they have to hurry to the next call and way off base in that that is why they moved me to a level 2 tech agent who contacted the web access tech. I was on the line almost an hour while they tracked it out.
I am amazed that one would hypothesize a false reason for something that I did not say happened, over trusting something that I did say happened.
Sure, the web access tech could have lied to 3 people about why they removed it, but what would be his motivation?
Guess I should have asked for the timetable, but guess we will know for sure at some point. |

Actually, what ILpt4U said is most likely correct. Tier 1 has a very limited amount of time to address your issue, Tier 2 has much more leeway in how long they can take to look into something. As such, if Tier 1 can push you to Tier 2 and have them look into something instead, they are likely to do that. |

I disagree about ILpt4U being likely correct. Tier 1 did not make anything up so they could move on to the next call. Plus you can see in his quoting me that I was specifically referring to Tier 2.
I have been transferred to Tier 2 before, but in this case Tier 1 stayed with the call as well. Maybe they weren't busy.
I should note that they have also not been totally unknowledgeable about contracts in the past either. Tech support knew about Hallmark being dropped (granted that was big news in advance) and about on demand being dropped from all the Discovery channel networks (probably that was Tier 2). |

Re: Uverse drops HD I figured out the other HD channel dropped from the web access: USA. Probably means it's HD will also be dropped from Uverse soon. Zap2It also no longer lists the HD channels on Uverse, even though I can still tune into them at present.

Clarification on last post: Should have written "Zap2It also no longer lists these 2 HD channels on Uverse." |

It seems even more unlikely that UVerse would drop USA in HD. I think you may be conflating two things that don't have any bearing on each other. Edit: It appears I'm likely correct, according to this thread: » forums.att.com/t5/Featur ··· /3421165It's a side effect of the East/West switchover in the ATT system that happened not too long ago. Mystery solved! |

Not sure one person writing "It's a known issue that after the east/west split of USA and Syfy that the WRA for many folks is messed up." is definitive over a Uverse web access tech saying it was removed due to upcoming contract changes...
I was shocked that Syfy would be SD only, let alone USA, but I would not put it past AT&T. Why remove it in advance? Maybe it's a negotiating ploy?
It's not like AT&T does everything I would like in order to control costs/profits. Dropping Hallmark was a big deal. They have other less popular, but great channels, that they have kept SD only, like BBCA, Sundance, IFC, Ovations, Military, Military History to name some.
It's not unlikely that they couldn't face dropping USA and USA owned Syfy, so they settled on SD only, probably like settling w/ the Discovery network on dropping on demand listings.
If it is accurate, it might come to bite them back. |

Syfy can go jump off a cliff for all I care, I expect my science fiction themed channel to show actual science fiction.
No way they drop USA HD though, it's the #1 rated prime time cable channel. |

WRA now shows USA & Syfy HD. Maybe it was a negotiating ploy. Maybe I was lied to. Maybe... |

You were lied to. Neither of those networks were up for renewal. As started before, it was known issue with the WRA which AT&T was aware of and needed to resolve. |
