Quite a few educational (and large employees) are part of a bigger licensing thing. IE if you go to UofT there's an offer code and you can get an office 2013 license for $11. Lots of other universities and employers that license it have access as well.

I'd check out a permanent user code for $11 over a 4 year 99 dollar license:
