Re: Actiotec swap out

I called up Verizon a week or so ago and told them I was "having troubles with the small NAT table" in my Rev D Actiontec that I've had since 2009. They said that they could change it out for a "Gen 2" unit (Rev E or F) for free, but I'd have to pay if I wanted a "Gen 3" (Rev I). I told them the Gen 2 would be fine for now. The Verizon warehouse gods were smiling on me that day... a brand new Rev I showed up in UPS the next day (and they said I could keep the Rev D to boot!). Sweet!

I've personally been finding Verizon send out Rev. I's regardless. A relative of mine called in to report an issue with their TV guide not updating, and it turns out their ActionTec Rev. F after two years of uptime just needed a reboot. That was not attempted by Verizon and instead they just shipped a new router. New one came, Rev. I stuffed inside and the relative only pays for the 20Mbps/5Mbps (25Mbps/7Mbps :P) service. How nice.
