I've played with the asus prime (tf200), i did like it. the tf300 is $350 on newegg, with free dock keyboard. I heard good things about asus google nexus 7 . samsung google nexus 10 is good too.

 | I have the Nexus 7 and really like it but wish I would have got the 10". So much more I could do with it if it was just a little bigger.
Just my thoughts. |

Or something like that.
For what its worth I have an iPad 3rd gen and like it just fine. As well as two HP Touchpad units (16GB and 32GB) with one running Android. I also have a Kindle Fire and an Asus Eee Slate EP121 Core i5 based PC tablet running Windows 8.
A good (powerful) PC tablet will likely run you about ~$1000 -/+. |

You are going to need a bag, case, purse, pack or one hell of a big pocket for anything over 7".
7" able to type with both hands while holding it in landscape or portrait 7" you can hold it with one hand and write with a pen or swipe 7" portability 7" price smaller screen should equal longer battery life
If you go 10", why not go a little bigger? And get the keyboard cover, pen + touch input, hdmi out, and latest gpu. I really like the lenovo helix »www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvLaYktyWEU |

It all boils down to what you want to use it for. The Nexus is the perfect size for a book reader, movie player, web reader, etc. But it is a little small for things like remote desktop or content creation work. I used the Prime almost exclusively for remote support using LogMeIn, and it did a decent job for that. But I found it too heavy to use as a tablet, so it was always just a laptop alternative. And once I picked up a 13.3" windows laptop, the Prime went up for sale. -- Intel i7-2600k /ASRock P67 Extreme4 /4x 4Gb G.Skill /2x Intel 510 series 250Gb SSD /3x WD20EADS 2TB /2x PNY GTX 260 /Silverstone 850W /Custom water cooler /Antec Twelve-Hundred |

As far as which Android tablet to get, first you need to decide what size you want/need, and only you can decide that. Think about what it will be used for and how portable you need it to be. I do not own a 10" tablet, but don't think I would want to take one out of the house. So a 7" tablet is more portable, but then you have a smaller screen.

 | i would use a tablet for reading pdfs, powerpoints, word docs, excel sheets. watch movies.

The Samsung ATIV 500T (Atom CPU) or 700T (i5 CPU) are fantastic for all of this, plus they can run much of the other software you already run on your Windows x86 laptop (assuming that laptop of yours is a Windows laptop). I love my 500T. -- "The counsel of fools is all the more dangerous the more of them there are." -Ólafr Höskuldsson |

With a Core i5 3317U and Core i7 3517U option it won't be cheap. My guess is it will cost more then the Surface Pro (I'd guess about ~$1300+) but I would prefer the ASUS personally. |
