jsouthJsouth join:2000-12-12 Wichita, KS | cracked egress window I have a cracked egress window. It is not broken but has a crack that runs down almost the whole length of the glass vertically. It is one solid window that cranks out. I do not have the money for a replacement window right now because of personal reasons which I will not get into. I am looking for a temporary fix. The crack is not wide just long. |

| reply to jsouth If you do that, run a piece across the crack at top and bottom first, then run a piece along the crack.
Packing tape tears VERY easy once started and the part where it is cut is a start point. There is no box end here to fold the tape over to keep it from tearing in that direction. |

I would recommend security film, a product that reinforces the glass to prevent it from entering your home if it shatters. Should be available in home improvement stores. |

You can try the same way they repair auto windshields.. have never done this on a window but works great with auto's. |
