You can try the same way they repair auto windshields.. have never done this on a window but works great with auto's.

I would recommend security film, a product that reinforces the glass to prevent it from entering your home if it shatters. Should be available in home improvement stores.

Packing tape tears VERY easy once started and the part where it is cut is a start point. There is no box end here to fold the tape over to keep it from tearing in that direction.

I do not have the money for a replacement window right now because of personal reasons which I will not get into. I am looking for a temporary fix. The crack is not wide just long.
