Re: [GA] ZOOM 5341j Incompatible?

Numbers were up around 8 or 9 again during testing at the tap. Tech put an EQ on the line, and I'm down around -1 - 1. Speeds are slower, but I'd prefer the stability, really.

What speeds are you currently getting while connected directly to the modem?

The speeds fluctuated for a short time after the tech put the EQ on the line. It went from 10 to 28 again, and didn't bond channels for the first day. Ultimately, the modem is still too sensitive to Mediacom's fluctuations, so I have a Motorola ordered, since there won't be anything but speculation that line inconsistencies are normal, and I'm not ready to pay $250 just to drop the service.

The modem is great, but it's too sensitive to the unbalanced Mediacom infrastructure.

If the Motorola has the same problems as two ZOOM modems, I'm going to be p*ss*d. If the Motorola doesn't have the same problems, I really still will be. I worked for Comcast for a few years, and balancing signals is a pretty standard issue that the local plant doesn't seem to be dealing with; it really makes the company look like novices.
