Chkdsk & prag-2.swp ?

Last night my wife's computer lost its network connection. After poking around a bit and not finding anything I re-booted. On boot up it ran a chkdsk with what I think was a rather different looking screen than I've seen before (though it's been a while) and no way to exit out. The result was restoration of a file named prag-2.swp. However, once up, I was not able to locate that file anywhere on her computer nor have I been able to find any reference to it on google search.

Any ideas?

LOL.
Just today I installed a program ClipMon.
I've been running it sandboxed (sandboxie).
Gave a google search for "prag-2.swp" & nothing popped up - except for this thread.
Figured I'd search my disk for ".swp".
Everything tells me, "C:\CLIPMON\history\textclips\prag-2.swp.txt".

So perhaps CHKDSK found something that it did not like with "prag-2.swp" (inconsistent or whatever) & "cleaned it up". You happened to catch that.

Should be some record of it in Event Viewer.

The extension indicates it was likely a Swap disk file. Chkdsk normally restores files with a CHK extension.

LOL, at me, with me, this time.

Forget everything I said above, its wrong!

When I copied the string "prag-2.swp" to search for it, ClipMon created a same named "clip" that it stores in its history, as an individual file, named as "prag-swp" & then appends a ".txt" extension to it. So when I searched for ".swp", sure enough it turned up - for that reason alone.

(After all I did say, "Just today I installed...". Guess I'm learning more about its ways as I go along ;-).)

Anyhow, see if Event Viewer holds any clues.

Hah. Should have thought about Event Viewer... That's what happens when troubles are few and far between.
