1 edit | reply to EG said by EG:The "estimated capacity" figures are. Yes I like my estimated capacity figures:
Estimating capacity: Upstream: 4172 Kbps. Downstream: 25012 Kbps.
And speed tests seem to be fairly well:

 | ShaperProbe is NOT accurate for this as people think.
For example it says I have no upload shaping, however if I do an actual file upload I do....
So either the upload doesn't run long enough for everyone or Comcast is shaping based on type of traffic..
Just wanted to share those 2 cents... |

Just wanted to share those 2 cents... what you think is INCORRECT...
any other speed testing method has been found to have that download / upload shaping which skews the the test itself since its giving you a false impression about your speed.
just like exactly what you think with your upload... |

| reply to pflog I think based on this, PB is gonzo. Although with a DS of 109033 it may not be. Thoughts? Thanks.

He isn't the only one! It's been this way since I got service in November. |

 | If you have downstream PB you WILL have upstream, regardless of what you "think" or see via ShaperProbe.
Like I said previously, ShaperProbe is NOT accurate for this. It was at one point but not any longer. The program is not running the tests for long enough on the upload, only the download.
If you want to know your upload shape just upload a big file and watch your bandwidth at the same time. You will see it dip after a bit, thus the shaping.
For all the people claiming speed test sites are not accurate, well that is not true also in whole. Correct, some are not and some run short also thus not showing the shaping but not ALL are flash based and not for everyone will flash based ones be an issue.
A lot of it depends on the location of the test server, the duration of the test and how big the file is and your computers CPU & GPU (due to hardware acceleration of flash).
Too many false assumptions are made and to many people think they know more vs. how things are in the real world.
I love people who live by the program. While yes it's a good tool, it is not a 100% assurance of anything, just a good reference or starting point.
Verify your own findings yourself. |

I have shown with shaper probe that I have PB up to 35Mbps from mhy 27Mbps speed and NO powerboost on the upload. And I can confirm all day long with as many real upload tests as you want that I have NO upload powerboost.
Quit making statements like this when you do not have a clue as to what you are talking about. |

This may not be true. To my knowledge, the M.S.O. can configure these individually in the CMTS settings / configuration. |
