Is Florida left out?

It seems Florida/GA seems to be left out (or dead last) on the speed upgrade. It would be nice to know when it will kick in. The upload icon my modem is still green when the download icon is blue.

Does anyone in the FL/GA area have dual bonding?

Hi Rob

I noticed this morning my DPC 3010 had been pushed new firmware d3000-v302r125533-120716a-COX.

Firmware has new specs listed:
DOCSIS Downstream Scanning: Completed
DOCSIS Ranging: Completed
DOCSIS DHCP: Completed
DOCSIS TFTP: Completed
DOCSIS Data Reg Complete: Completed
DOCSIS Privacy: Enabled

So could be soon. I'm still getting 50/12 with 5 chan down and 1 chan up in FWB.

Rob they don't upgrade the whole cox network at once. Omaha NE is still waiting for speed upgrades. We
have upstream bonding

No upstream channel bonding in Central Florida that I've seen.

Florida/Georgia are the same thing (ATlanta) funny how Cox peers from a place that's not even a Cox'ed serviceable area!

Florida also connects via their backbone to New Orleans

the peering is not all that surprising, they are colocated in the major peering points across North America and many of those (Dallas, NYC, Palo Alto, etc) are not Cox markets

it's actually a good thing for you that their backbone connects to the peering points rather than having to go through another party to get there

People up in Crestview have to go through one more hop to get to pensacola which can be drastic.

Warner robins and Macon Georgia put in the Bid for Google Fiber if we had got them COX would have been well wont go there.

quote:
if Houston County wins, the fiber would virtually eliminate wait times when you're surfing for a website
Meaning Cox is Slow around here!!!

Their Web page is still up!!!

Google i will pay you $600 Construction not the $300. GET HERE. MY Brother said he would pay $1,000 and he lives in Houston County.

Read this Google Fiber Built-out would cost Google $140 Billion.

»bgr.com/2012/12/07/google-fiber-···=twitter

They would get this back within 1-2 years no Doubt.
