Re: [Tip] Office 97 doesn't install in Windows XP - htmlmarq.ocx
And I thought I was the Dinosaur for running Office 2000 on all my computers, and yes it installs and runs on both Win 7 and Win 8. -- Shooter Ready--Stand By BEEP ********

My XP rig runs Office 2000 Service Pack 3. I was able to get it to work somewhat successfully on Windows 7... but I couldn't remember what needed hacked/patched/modified to get it to run right. I simply prefer Office 2010 for Windows 7.

I had/have no problems getting all of Office 2000 working in Win 7. No hacks needed on my systems. But then I do have the MSDN version. -- Shooter Ready--Stand By BEEP ********

Interesting... Did that include installing all the updates afterwards from SR-1 to SP3 and post SP3 updates for Office 2000? I ran into some issue with the updates.
I believe it is SP1 to start with and then I added the SP3 update. No problems with that.
As to any other updates I think I installed one other one. A security update from 9/3/03. Then again I'm not sure as my Win 7 install on this desktop is from December 2010 and on my newest Dell notebook from Dec 2011. Along with all my programs installed at the same time. To long ago to remember. And as everything is working fine there is no need for me to check by doing a reinstall to find out. -- Shooter Ready--Stand By BEEP ********
