Re: [Wind] Wind Mobile has new plans...

What is your monthly?

My Rogers bill was $72 minus $13 in credit minus 12% bundled discount for $52+tax and "non" governmental governmental recovery fee's and ecolab fee's and Bob's your uncle fee. I was using an iPhone (which, while still under a 3rd party warranty, can't be fixed nor is Rogers willing to care) that seemed to chew through data even when not in use, so 1 GB of data was good for checking e-mail and that's it, otherwise I was going over huge.

BTW: There are simpler ways to add often called numbers that are US based. I was (am) using VoIP.ms, but might as well as change my plan to get what I need for $1 more.

My phone has gone out (Away) a handful of times in two months, but I haven't been charged any roaming minutes yet.

I know that the other providers (Bell, Rogers, Telus) do have better coverage, but you pay dearly for that, and I'm not willing to pay $95 plus strange fees. If I can get twice as much for 1/3 the price...

Like, really, who charges for Caller-ID? What the hell?

My monthly is a flex tablet plan so it depends on data, so it's one of the three:

1) $20/month for under 500MB of data usage
2) $35/month for 500MB-5 or 6GB of data usage
3) $35/month + per MB data charge I don't even know of since I won't ever exceed even 3 or 4 GB even with LTE.

When I went into the mall to buy the phone (Samsung Note) and open the account, Bell had me initially on something like a $70 plan with voice, data, etc., but all of that is irrelevant since I convinced a Bell rep to move me to their tablet plan which is nationwide (so don't even have to worry about this local/provincial/nation wide crap), and I use GV/Talkatone for free infinite calls/texts to anywhere in North America.

I see...so you basically don't have a Bell voice line, you're just using your data coverage. Really not sure if I'd go that route, but if it works, why not.

You can try Wind, no contacts. If it sucks, leave. If it works good, stick around, good prices.

I took out a Samsung Galaxy 3S with Wind... I was shocked when they offered it to me for $400, the phone costs $660. Here's the catch, you never have to pay the rest of the money until you decide to leave Wind... and you take your phone with you.

@ JEFF: I hate Apple because they cripple their iphones on purpose, I have no respect for them and I will never buy another phone from them, thank God that Samsung makes a better smartphone and is the way of the future. Does the iphone have "beam" where you transfer files by just touching two Samsung phones together? Nope it doesn't, that's just one of the things that the iphone lacks and will never have..... well maybe the Iphone 9s will have that in 2017 when they release it, hahaha!

You want a subsidized phone for $149? Go to Rogers and take out a plan for $80/month with 200 daytime minutes and free evening after 9:00pm, don't bother going to WIND.

Yeah it's probably not for everyone, and since it took me about 2 hours to convince this lady, they certainly resist moving brand new contracted people with a subsidised phone on 3 year contracts from one of their super bundled voice+data+text+alltheothercrap to just data.

Really though, what you did is what the big 3 are afraid of everyone figuring out. If everyone does sip and get their own DID, the market will have to figure away to adjust.
