 | Ordered New Service I just ordered comcast to replace my wowway service. I'm getting the Preferred digital with performance internet. I was wondering what kind of cable boxes comcast gives out? I'm getting two standard boxes and was hoping they would have either HDMI or Component connections. Did not order HD service. |

You may end up with ancient DCT-2200 series (so little memory the guide only holds about 12 hours). If you are lucky, maybe a DCT-700 (can hold a few days.)
If you are lucky, or beg enough, you could get an HD box, but the HD channels will be locked out. I think the HDMI/Component outputs will still work. |

 | reply to srtdodge05 Varies from area to area, but some locations do have the component and HDMI disabled if the account does not have HD service. So even if you get a box that has RF and HD outputs they may not work. |

 | reply to dishrich The sentence was poorly punctuated. By "they", the OP means the HD outputs, not the RF outputs. |

2 edits | A family member who just ordered service with only SD got a Motorola DCT2000 ;P. That box is really old .
They did get an Arris TG862G though. |
