| [Equipment] Testing an ATA Possibly a dumb question, but can I verify that an ATA or IP Phone is operating correctly by registering it to the SIP Server here (»www.iptel.org/service/ ) and dialing some of the test numbers they provide?
Or, is there a better way? I know that there is SIP Server software which can be installed on a PC, but I prefer to avoid that hassle- a Public server is preferred. A free solution is best. |

1 edit | Your methodology worked for me. I opened an account with iptel, and then entered my account info and iptel's SIP server info in my PAP2 ATA and Linphone softphone on my laptop. Both devices registered and I was able to dial their test numbers successfully. |
