My relatives in the New England area have changed. The arrogance
has gone. They actually speak of Canada not as a 2nd class country
like they used, not as an equal but to my amazement they now speak
of Canada with a respect I never ever expected to hear.

One family has taken their banking business to TD Bank's USA
operation. TD Banknorth I think it's called. They feel TD would run
their American operation they way it operates in Canada. They have
lost faith in the American banking system.

They ask me questions about our healthcare system all the time.

The last 5 years have really opened their eyes. I think it has shaken
many to their cores. One of the mothers is SO happy she applied for
dual citizenship for her 2 sons when they were born.

I'm not speaking for Western Canada just BC. I believe BC was a
"have not" province for a very short period. I doubt our per capita
debt was anywhere near what Ontario's debt is now. You're in for an
interesting ride if you're hoping your manufacturing sector will pull
you through.

If Ottawa hadn't chickened out an allowed banking sectors in
Vancouver and/or Calgary you would be in even bigger trouble.

Bzzzt wrong. There were 163 in Toronto in 2011, and only 81 in Calgary. 33% of all Canadian corporate HQs are in Toronto.

What's your point, FaxCap? Toronto and Chicago have had close ties between each other for a very long time. Hell, their geography is even similar. The fact that Chicago likes Canada is not surprising considering that they have always had a very close relationship with Toronto.

In case you didn't know, Toronto is a Canadian city and will continue to be no matter how much that may tick you or anyone else off. :p
(Likewise, BC isn't always the first thing that comes to an American's mind when they think of Canada, either)

Change was done in 2003 from fresh backed twice daily to frozen crap made 4-6 months prior.

Souce: I worked there during that time and was baffled how they ''tested'' the new stuff on firefighters and they agreed 9/10 that the frozen stuff was equal or better than the old stuff.

Maybe it's different in your area, but I find even McDonald's coffee superior to Tim's. Tim's coffee always makes me think of what the water in a mud-puddle would taste like if you warmed it up and put some sugar in it.
