<description><![CDATA[Poser posted : So a phone that I paid for, $200~ upfront and subsidized for a 36 month term, I don't have the right to use it how I want? It is a iPhone 3GS<br><br>Thats like financing a car from the dealership and at the end of the term they tell you that you can only drive it in Toronto.<br><br>Like the first person who responded said... write something on the CRTC consultation form. Which I did. I hope it carries weight in their decision.<br><br>Having to pay $50 for something you should already have full rights to is just a business gouging you one last time. <description><![CDATA[anon posted : Ok the BBB does nothing but take money for good ratings. No sense in reporting anything to them.<br><br>CCTS has nothing to do with fees charged for unlocking. CCTS is there to correct if you didn't get something you should have, something changed, charged for something wrong etc..<br><br>Not something you have a choice in doing like unlocking.]]></description>

<description><![CDATA[yyzlhr posted : What kind of phone do you have?  Practically any phone with the exception of the iPhone can be unlocked through a 3rd party for much cheaper.  In addition, 3rd party unlocking solutions are exactly the same as what Rogers will provide to you so there is no risk in damaging the device or voiding the warranty.  <br><br>Also, having skimmed through the draft CRTC code, it looks like its really only trying to make wireless contracts more transparent, it doesn't look like it can regulate the fees that carriers can charge.  ]]></description>

The supervisor had no answer other than thats just the price.<br><br>I filed my complaints, I expect nothing to come from them. But I encourage others to make noise about this as it is a ridiculous idea to think that my phone is useless unless it is used on a rogers network.... considering that it has been bought and paid for in full.]]></description>
