All of you that will be impacted, please be safe. If it's bad and you don't have to be out on the road, then please don't.

My daughter's friend bought both of them tickets to see Passion Pit in Boston Saturday night. They are leaving Syracuse tomorrow morning and will return back on Monday. Boston is supposed to get a couple of feet and we're supposed to get a foot although for us it's doubtful we'll even notice. My daughter and friend think that everyone handles snow like we do and can't see any reason not to go. I have spent a lot of time in Boston I wouldn't like them going in the middle of summer let alone during a snowstorm. I can't really say anything because my daughter is over 18 but it puts me in a bad situation. I told them I'd cover the price of the tickets and any other costs that the car rental and the lodging gets for canceling. Grrr....

latest snowfall predictions for NYC went from 4" to a Foot;

most of this will be a rainy slushy mess by Monday.

UPDATE: 9am Friday - looks to be much too warm outside
for much snow to accumulate, so this mess may miss NYC,
at least till AFTER the rush hour tonight. get your sleds out
of the attic - Saturday morning near any hill will be fun times.

We're only supposed to get 6" but I doubt we'll get that much. My daughter did the smart thing and left yesterday and already in Boston so they have a front row seat for what they are calling out there a "historic" storm.

It's only 30F outside, plenty cold enough to snow. I just walked up to the local deli, it's lousy out there.

Also, the temps are supposed to drop into the 20's, with the heaviest snow for tonight.

Oh, it started down there? Looking at the radar it is starting to push inland.

Edit - in just the last hour the winds have gone from under 10 MPH to over 20. I'll take all the snow in the world but I hate it when the wind comes with it.

Gas Shortage?

"While there have been reports of some gas stations running out of fuel, including at least one on Staten Island, Mayor Bloomberg says the storm will not cause a shortage or disrupt the distribution chain."

We saw some gas lines last night and this morning. Not too long a wait to fill up both cars though.

Re: Nor'easter on it's way.

Gas shortages for a 1-2 day snow event, during which you probably won't be driving anywhere anyway? Really?

The part that killed me was some stations saying they were out of gas. I call BS on that one.

owners of those stations should show their intake vs. sales and if it doesn't reconcile should be tossed in the state pen.

My tradition - crappy ipod pic - sorry. Back of my house about 12 steps down to the lawn.
Front window screens are covered in snow so pix there would be useless.
Waiting fir a plow ROFLMAO!!!! just to see a bit of black top.

About 24 inches inches and three or four 6 foot drifts against the garage doors which will fall into the garage once we open them to get outside.
When I stand in a flat spot it is almost tush high.
Front door is not as bad as the back fortunately.

Hey, I wonder if that driver of the front end loader from last year is still clearing the streets. He kind of took that "clearing" part a little too far
