 | [Modem] New Motorola 3360 not resolving DNS through router? Just installed the Motorola 3360 with the 'on-line' setup routine. Works direct connected but will not open a web page through the router (Linksys WRT original). The old modem (installed in 2004) was suspect and suggested replacement by direct forum. (David)
Suspect the settings (DNS?) are conflicting but do not know the correct solution. I do get an 'internet connection' notification through the router but no web pages will open.
Can someone point me to the proper area to help find the proper setup? Thanks, PP |

I have redacted unnecessary entries from my report; yours might have four, or five, depending on the number of hardware and virtual adapters available.
The DNS servers in my report are for my ISP. I would expect yours to be either 68.94.156.1/68.94.157.1, or the IP address of the modem.
Invoke the command prompt from the Windows "Run" box; type, 'cmd.exe', then [Enter].

 | Purchased a NetGear ATT2240 ADSL2 & Router from the ATT Store about two hours ago. After disabling the default security settings (don't need it in the rural area) even the iPads connected. Also needed to set the DNS in one laptop to the recommended 68.94.156.1 setting and then it would open a page also. The Motorola 3360 will be returned and the Linksys router will be junked. Not positive this was necessary but since the hardware was installed in 2004 it can not hurt anywhere except the pocketbook.. Thanks to those who attempted to help. PP |
