[Cable] Switching from TekSavvy..

Just wanted to throw this out there. I have decided to make the move from Teksavvy to another provider. what I'm being told is that there seems to be some difficulty arranging a "transfer" from Teksavvy to another provider. It all seems to stem from when Teksavvy sends the cancellation request to Rogers. I have been told that Teksavvy "holds" on to the line until the last possible moment, thereby seemingly causing a period whereby customers are in a no service limbo between 2 providers. I apologize if I'm not using the correct terminology, but my meaning should be relatively clear. What I'm asking is, what exactly happens when a Teksavvy customer cancels a serivce (cable internet) and transfers their service to someone else. I wish only to have as little downtime as possible (cable internet) and continue to use Teksavvy for my phone line. Can anyone from Teksavvy shed some light on this?

Thanks

When you ask to have service cancelled, we submit the request to Rogers almost immediately (24 hrs to process the request). We don't do any holding for cancellations because we know it could impact the transfer of one's service.

Can you please PM me your account details so I can see what is going on?

Thanks,

Andre

Hi rudelgh,

I just sent you a PM... Essentially, you asked us to cancel on the 4th, less then 24 hours later, we sent it to Rogers and less than 48 hours from when you cancelled, Rogers confirmed the disconnect for the date you wanted.

I think it was just bad timing... Your new provider should be able to resubmit that order, I think they were just too quick

Cheers,

Andre
