When one is opening a monthly account for a service from a company, it is not unreasonable to expect that said company either wants to establish a customer's ability/willingness to pay historically, or in lieu of that, ask for a substantial enough deposit to lessen their potential loss if the customer does not pay.
What other options could they offer that would satisfy this criteria?--
