1. Generator. Check 2. Transfer Switch. Check 3. Snowblower. Check
As a former Boy Scout, the motto is Be Prepared. Fuel? Check? I have two 5-gallon Jerry cans with fuel in them mixed with Sta-bil. I also have 7 gallons of fuel in the generator. -- I've experienced ImOn (when they were McLeod USA), Mediacom, Comcast, and Time Warner. They are much better than broadcast TV.
I have not and will not cut the cord. |

They all have anti-siphon blocks in the fill tubes now. Depends on the load. But I'd prep for a 2 week outage - here, when ice comes, we'll see 1-2 weeks w/o power.
My 8kw generator drinks 6.5 gallons just managing the fridge, blower on the furnace and TV in about 16 hours.
Running the a/c, tv and fridge? About 3 hours. |
