[Classes] 5.2 Warrior Changes

I wonder if Arms will be a good spec now in endgame raiding? Do most warriors only do fury in raids?

Once you start getting into raid finder ilvls (470+), Fury soars away from Arms by leaps and bounds.

Even with the changes, fury just scales so much better than arms. Arms is better in 5.2, but still lags behind.

For stat weight purposes, crit is almost half the weight of strength for arms. Haste/mastery below that. Meanwhile, for fury, crit is just below strength, haste about half the weight of strength, and mastery in between.

One spec preferring one of the secondaries over the other spec is no issue, that's what enchants/reforging/gems are for. However, from current sims with 5.2 data arms could not care less what's on the gear for secondary stats. Mainly because it has so little benefit compared to what it does for fury.

Part of crit being so valuable to fury is enrages, and the fact that fury will have more auto-attacks. They can't really start making crit more valuable to arms through various mechanics, because then it's either too dependent on RNG to perform, or causes PvP issues. That leaves either haste or mastery.

With the impending change to overpower and the slam buff, it might bring arms in line with fury on dps. I remember during dragonsoul, arms would take the cake for dps. That's if you could do the stance dance properly and manage your rage. Literally took me about 4 days to get the stance dance down while moving. Took getting used to A LOT of keybinds to do it effectively.

Beatstick, the info I have is from people who have been using PTR data, and testing on the PTR. It's still behind fury.

I don't trust anything coming out of the PTR since its just testing. But I have heard slam hits like a damn freight train now though.

Have you read/been told about how the change to haste for warriors is working out on the PTR? The last notes that I remember reading was that Blizz would be increasing the benefits of haste to warriors by 100% (aka doubling). It seems like it would only benefit white hits, as all our specials are hard CDs that are not affected by haste, which would leave it still at the bottom, unless you really bumped up hit to compensate.

most recent sims show that while things look much better in T14H gear, it again falls behind at the T15H level. So the underlying issue is still there.

And yeah, Fury would actually gain more from a haste buff than Arms, simply due to the fact that they're dual-wielding. The 1s Overpower GCD actually makes things clunky, since it now has a different GCD than your other abilities.

Heck, with the most recent sims, Impending Victory is a DPS boost, because it does more damage per rage than Slam.

That is why I believe that slam is getting a buff. The new change to arms is better than the crappy TFB stacks. Too many fights where I've only got 1 stack at a time. But, when people QQ in pvp about a warrior with full elite gear hits them with heroic strike for 800k or higher on a 5 stack, it needs to change. SCREW YOU PVP AND MAKING US WARRIORS GET NERFS IN PVE.

Fury is fun in group zerg pvp in random BGs. It lacks in most other aspects of pvp due to having to keep enrage up. Too many good pvp'rs will remove your enrage or disarm you.

Take it with a grain of salt though. If you're proficient with fury and its more fun then by all means, Get Sh*t on!

Is it ever NOT frustrating to be a warrior?

So I use Mr Robot and gem CRIT, have been ever since I found Icy Veins website. So I get into a raid last night (first one of ToT), and another lesser geared warrior keeps beating me in dps. Overall, I end up ahead in damage done, but his dps surpassed my own. I check the WoW armory app and this guy is gemmed for STR and his hit is about 10% higher than mine, mine being just below minimum requirement (as Mr Robot directed).

I am seriously considering gemming for STR, as based on my gear ilvl, he should have never come close.

Any recommendations. My warrior is Weppon on Nazgrel.

Tunnel vision on DPS numbers is for noobs. DPS doesn't kill, damage does. If you're doing more damage in the same fight, you're doing better than he is. Stop worrying about it.
