The guy that played the Vampire was hired onto the Hobbit movies. I think he is playing a dwarf or a hobbit, I dunno which. Because they weren't sure of how long he would be gone, they dusted him.
Then for what ever reason, they killed Nina off. She had the baby and that was it for her.

Then the guy that plays the werewolf wants out. So they kill him off in a heroic fashion [about 3 or 4 episodes into season 4]. The vampire was killed at the end of season 3, Nina was "killed" between seasons [but it wasn't on film, just written].

I forget what happened to the original ghost, I think she was the last to go.

So now you have a werewolf baby, the village idiot werewolf, the stuffy vampire, and I think a ghost [not sure as it's been awhile since I saw season 4].

Though they didn't paint themselves into a corner like the syfy being human did. Meaning Vampires are well and healthy in BBC's version, vs the sole [as far as we know] vampire on Syfy. Due to a blood born virus that kills the undead.
