need 1024 x 768 resolution. I have the 1024, but with wide screen, don't have 768. How foolish of them.

Not for me... I can get all the same info within a web browser. Don't need to install software to do this.

Its still the weather whores.

I prefer my weather in pure form... without the hype and commerciality.

In a serious weather situation I watch/look at anything BUT the Weather CH where there is real information.

One of my favorite true weather clearing sites is »spaghettimodels.com

I kind of like this one. I have seriously missed my weather bug on the desktop. Thank you!

Agreed. Subscribe to WeatherUnderground and create your own fully customizable local weather site and keep it open in a tab. Also NWS has local weather report pages along with live radar that can be set to update every 15 minutes. No need for software.

You mean for [Windows] desktop--not "for browser".

That site looks like garbage.

Looks aren't every thing.... its a great source for all kinds of RAW data from many sources without tons of book markets and hunting. And during major weather some live stuff too from various reliable sources. (ie not the WX Ch Storm Porn'ers)
The one think not on there I wish was is the US Navy weather data. For coastal areas that is very good reliable data.

They don't try to scare the crap out of people for ratings, name winter storms for no reason except they feel like it. Weather Chanel just gets to be worse and worse garbage every year, and so do their products.

The site does look a bit cluttered, but it's been growing on me. I've been using it to keep tabs on the snowfall forecast for the Midwest for the end of this week.

Weather.gov is great too, but they don't always present the raw data behind the forecasts in ways that are easy to read/see.
