What is this thing in our cable splitter box?

While waiting for my laundry I checked out the cable box at our apt and noticed this thing on my apt's line.

Just curious what it is, since we *do* subscribe to TV & Internet. Maybe it is a blocker but only for certain frequencies? I'm mostly curious since no one else has this type of splitter on their line.

Just being nosy & curious

It's a limited basic filter. It blocks frequencies from the audio portion of channel 41 to the end of 73. So about 329-572 MHz.
