MPC-HC plays rm files and always has. Trade the old MPC in for the new one.

Are the .rm files you are trying to play the full file, or a link to a streaming file hosted on the web? If the remote file has been removed/renamed etc., MPC will not be able to find it.

Good point. You can tell by the file size. The rm links are basically just text files, thus really small.

Also, do you know for sure the files are good? For testing you could simply install RealPlayer.
