AMD has released a roadmap in which it will remain focused on the HD7000 series for the upcoming year.
AMD has now confirmed the rumors that its next generation of GPUs will be delayed and instead will be focusing on its Radeon HD 7000 series for 2013. Disappointingly, the December 2012 reveal of desktop and mobile HD 8000 series GPUs is simply an OEM rebrand of its existing lineup and a true successor to the HD 7000 will likely only see release during Q4 2013.
The takeaway is that if you were planning on upgrading and holding off, now is a fantastic time to upgrade. Prices are good and competition is fierce. It will be interesting to see how Titan forces price cuts (although it might be so expensive that nothing under it budges). Right now you can get a 7870 for $200, which is a fantastic deal.

kudos:1 | I wouldn't call it 'stable' if nvidia can get their next gen out the door a quarter or two earlier. I've got a 6000 series, if it's getting hammered this summer and nvidia has newer faster stuff out well that's not looking good for AMD getting my business again this time. |

kudos:7 | Depends how good for gaming the GK110 is. I wonder how much of an increase it will be over the GTX 600 series, and if a $1300 GPU will do more than compete with the GTX 690 and Radeon 7990.

Well that would be really messed up, especially if NVIDIA brings their product to the market before ATI. I have not purchased an NVIDIA card in years...

They probably got blindsided by the fact that an early engineering sample of a 780 just destroyed on that new build of 3DMark like that leaked screen capture claimed. This kind of maneuver lends credence to the leak's veracity.
