Re: Great Beta Testing Cogeco Speeds!said by KnockKnock:Pretty sure Chatham is now on aggregate POI, as of last week. In that case, the entire discussion of aggregate versus non-aggregate is moot. |

I should say that I know that they were hoping to finish that process last week, I am not 100% that they were successful though. But the 2mb upload probably means they were? I didn't realize that Cogeco had upgraded their upload speed on the lower tiers until someone pointed it out in this thread. I wonder if they are looking at going higher on the faster tiers soon. |

The speed upgrade appearing last week have nothing to do with the POI type. That just so happens to be the time when they went live. Probably won't see faster upload speeds beyond 2Mbit/s on the higher tiers until Cogeco finishes rolling out four channel 64QAM on all their nodes. That rollout only started very recently. |

I'm not sure why it changed, but I'll take it. Sure, why not ! So contrary to my earlier speculation, it looks like Chatham-ites are unofficially doubling as Beta Testers too. |

Toronto has less ping but I get better download at the Winnipeg one. |

Okay, thanks for that. I've not much use for higher upload speed anyways, so I'm not too concerned by that. |

Hehe... Or it could be his way of saying "Awwww.... What's one more?" TekSavvy tends to be flexible like that because they see the customer as the most important aspect because with no customers, there's no business. Not many companies out there actually understand that these days, but TekSavvy does. |
|
|
+1 couldn't of said it any better. Customers are like a guest visiting at home. You want to make sure they are well taken cared of. |

Just recieved the Teksavvy Swag! Love the stuff. Thanks again. =) Just did a speed test at 5 p.m. |

Same here got mine last night. Thanks again to TSI. Same day as my install....my speed test is pretty much the same no matter of the time of day. Here is a new one I just did at 5:25pm |

Which package did you sign up for neko? I didn't see any with 20 Mb/s download or I may have gone that route. Then again who knows, my Cable connection is mostly for redundancy with my 25 Mb DSL line. |

I don't see any mentions of firmware, but here is what I can see:
Software Version: STAC.02.50 Software Model: a81a Bootloader: 2.3.1 |

I'll know soon enough if I get dropped to a lower speed I suppose. It would be lovely to have access to higher speeds on the Cogeco network. I believe there is some CRTC decision, which relates to this, which may be released soon. |

Aha! Perhaps you may enjoy reading this stuff. It looks like I am using 4 channels of a possible 8, & only 1 upload channel. If all 8 Downstream channels were active, & all 4 Upstream channels, then... *something* I've no idea what, but something good I would wager. |

From the looks of it, the firmware that you're running is the STAC.02.50... As for the channel information, it seems strange to me that the modem is not utilizing all of the available channels. Is there something different about GOUGEco's network over Rogers perhaps? |

Interesting... I wonder why though, but nevertheless, as long as it works, I guess it doesn't really matter how it works, just that it works. |

Cogeco was only running three downstream channels in a lot of nodes until recently, and may still be in some areas. Four, so far, is as good as it gets.
They're also only now starting to roll out bonded upstream. |
