Rewiring - Which is best?

Our service went out Friday and the tech who came yesterday said the underground drop went bad and ran a new line from the pedestal.

The pedestal is closest to the west side of our house and that is where the original cable company installed it 32 years ago. Power and phone come in on the east side.

When the burying crew came out today, they said because of current code, it needs to be grounded on the side where the power meter is. So they ran a new drop that isn't hooked up yet and said we would receive a call to setup a free appointment to hook it up and rewire the inside.

My question is which scenario would be best.

Having them run new lines in the attic. Right now the 4 way splitter is about 50ft from the old drop in the attic and the 4 line go from there. Hooking up the new drop would require new cable lengths in the attic.

Or would it be better to ground the new drop and then connect an outside cable to be run along the outside of the house and connect that to the old hookup in the garage and then they just have to bury that new line.
