Maybe Adobe is changing from patching monthly to weekly or daily or hourly

I got 11.6.602.168 (confirmed) from the download page though.

Thanks.

PS: The Android 4.0 player was updated to v11.1.115.47 as well.

Site says "At the request of Adobe, download links have been removed."

However it can be downloaded at:

This is the best link to use:

It lets you pick exactly what version you want and does not allow you to add any spyware.

Adobe blames naïve Office users for latest Flash Player exploits

In sync with the release of critical security updates to Flash Player, Adobe's security team has revealed that the forthcoming version of the software will include a feature aimed at protecting gullible users who just can't resist opening every Office doc that shows up in their email.

Re: Adobe Flash Player 11.6.602.168!

That is the ONLY link that should be provided in a thread in a security forum. We are not a bunch of naive, ignorant of computers users who love getting the crap that on the "approved" pages for updating.

Thank you for the ONLY correct link.

I have it bookmarked too...but only on one browser and I was on a different one.

Now...IE 10 was a pain in the butt last update as I don't use WU and finding it on Microsoft's support to download directly site was not easy. Maybe it is included in the IE security patches? I have not read the Security Bulletin thread yet.

Edit: Why wasn't Flash included in that huge IE patch? UGH.

Thanks antdude. I updated one Vista 32bit and two Windows 7 64bit computers without a problem.

I'm amazed that I just updated Flash 5 days ago!

Flash has surpassed the point of the application's flaws being a problem and has passed into the realm of the Twilight Zone and totally unacceptable.

They need to replace or fix Flash. Period.

While I agree, at least Adobe updates Flash in a timely manner and it silently updates... unlike Oracle who could give a rats ass about timely fixes for Java... Java is fast becoming the bane of my existence at work. The updater isn't silent, won't update automatically, it pops up things at the end users, needs intervention to update, and attaches the Ask Toolbar by default as a big f-you payload to boot. So most users ignore the Java update tray icon.

If it silently updates obviously I've never seen it.

What I see, however, is a machine boots up and there's a prompt to upgrade flash. When you click OK or Upgrade or whatever the button says then it opens up your browser to the flash download site. If you click cancel or "x out" of the update prompt there are no further prompts. You're on your own to visit the flash site and hopefully download the right one.

In Java what I have seen is there is the system tray icon or prompt and when that is activated and when you click OK or Upgrade or whatever the button says it launches the Java update installer.

If anybody still needs the Android 2.x - 3.x apk, note that Adobe's link is wrong. They left the "pre" out of the link, so you'll have to edit the link yourself to get the file. It's not available yet through Google Play either.

That's the old method, that was annoying and only worked if you ever logged out of your user account and/or restarted your PC. As of Flash 11.5 for Windows and MacOS X, it will quietly update things in the background over the course of a week or so after a new update is released.
I'd check your Flash Player control panel settings.

I'm never prompted to upgrade on Flash on either the Mac or PC. I just learn about it from the forum.

I do get the prompt for Adobe reader and Java all though for the latter it's my impression that it is only sometimes.

That's good to know! I haven't looked at any FAQ at this site in quite awhile and I think it has been many years since I looked at the Software forum FAQ.
