Mt. Baldy Village cable co?

Hi all,

I have been looking at moving up to Mt. Baldy village recently... Found out that Verizon is sold out on their DSL for the area (there's actually a waiting list for new DSL), and that the only other option is Satellite.

I see a cable system (commscope) in town and along my road. There are even houses that are plugged into taps on this system.

I've asked Time Warner, and they deny that it is theirs.

I've entered the address on "Cable Mover", and nothing comes back as being serviceable.

Does anybody know the history of that cable system or who might own it?

If not mistaken its charter thats the cable provider up there.

We have been asked by several people to provide fixed wireless broadband but no one has yet to give us the magic answer as to how many people would be willing to sign up. Costs are higher to get badnwidth there as we have to relay off a nearby mountain top then into Baldy..
