Re: #BellLetsTalk Initiative Here's Your Chance to cost BHell

Yes, this is hugely positive for Bell. They get to trend on Twitter all day, even in the US because Bieber tweeted it. Huge brand awareness and all their networks and channels have an excuse to shill for the parent company without repercussion. Sure, it's for a good cause, but Bell gets way more value than the cash they put out.

Its a win-win for BHell ... thats why they made the marketing campaign.

1) The more you tweet the more successful their PR campaign is ... thus making them more money in goodwill and sales.

2) The money they donate is to a cause that actually helps their own business operations. With all the cost cutting since 2008 because of the sluggish economy, one of the major problem they have is Mental Health in the workplace resulting in loss of productivity and increased health care costs for BHell.

You can argue that the money they donate is basically money they would have spent to solve a problem they actually have. They figured out a way to get free publicity and a marketing campaign out of it as well.

3) Better than that, raising "awareness" among the general population tends to echo with politicians to spend more public tax money (aka your money) to program and research solving the problem. Thus BHell is causing public tax money to work on a problem that is affecting their business and thus dont have to spend their own money.

Do the math. A million Tweets is...

Fifty thousand dollars.

Now calculate that against all of the free publicity they've received via every possible media outlet including the news.

Even when you factor in all of the donations from all qualified platforms (text, calls, Tweets), while it may add up into the millions, it's still much less than the cost of a national campaign.

And will we ever find out how much money each charity will have actually received? Or is all that locked behind non-disclosure agreements?

No, it's not locked behind any agreements. Bell will get millions in free publicity for money they had already earmarked for a charitable donation. This is just stupid brand marketing, nothing more. And it does absolutely nothing for front line mental health services, which are funded by the provincial government. Front line mental health gets zero dollars out of this. Bell gets millions.

It is... My only problem lies with the translation of "Today, let's talk about your mental health" as well as the bottom corner where it says "Don't ask any questions"....

The killer is if you translate the French back to the English in the main box, you get "Today, we're profiting from you". That's freaking HILARIOUS lol lol lol

Just sayin' lol

The bottom right corner is kinda odd....
English: Don't ask any questions
French: You did indeed

I'm a little lost in how large companies translate some things. It never ceases to amaze me

More like, "we got ya good".

Still, instead of litteral translations, expressions in both languages have been used, makes it more efficient.
