Re: [NV] test.lvcm.com

Ultimate. Las Vegas Data Transfer Test (Burst Speed): 146 Mbps/22.6 Mbps. Cox Internet Speed Check Tool: 194 Mbps/40 Mbps. I ran the speed tests today. I average 192 Mbps/38 Mbps using the Internet Speed Check Tool. My Wi-Fi speeds are about the same.

Newest test - I am still paying for 50 and getting 30 on Cox Test - Seeing others post guess the page or test can provide good info...

A big reason the 6180 runs hotter then a 6120 is because the 6180 uses 2 tuners. The case also isn't as unrestrictive as the one on the 6120. If you want a 8x4 D3 modem that only uses one tuner, look into the SB6141, but that uses the same case (but white) as the 6180.

Do you get the same results when you sign in to Internet Tools and use the speed test tool provided there?

No, I get different results sometimes higher and sometimes lower, but always short of what is advertised as download speed...

All the test results I show you getting via the Internet Tools test are above your provisioned rate.

Perhaps some of our Vegas employees can speak to that one but it was my understanding that this test was no longer supported. The official in-network speed test tool is access via signing into Internet Tools at »www.cox.com.

I find it too much trouble to load the slow cox webpage, and sign in, I only use it once a month to pay my billing.

test.lvcm.com was quick and convenient, but if it is no longer supported & inaccurate I understand and will stop posting in this thread...

We are continuing to support test.lvcm.com insofar as making sure it works and giving the server care and feeding (and lots of bandwidth) - it's used by a LOT of people, actually.

However, the *OFFICIAL* Cox speedtest (i.e. the one Customer Care will want you to use) is the tool off www.cox.com.
